Athletic trainers work evenings and weekends usually. They often travel with sports teams to their events. While trainers enjoy their job it also takes a lot of time away from their families. While they are traveling with a team they can be away from their families for days at a time. I have grown up very involved in sports. As an athlete I understand how important it is to take care of your body. I have always liked to watch coaches tape ankles, shin splints, wrists, you name it I wanted to watch it. Knowing that I do not want to play sports the rest of my life, athletic training is the perfect match for me. If you are a person who love to be in the gym as much as I do, I urge you to consider athletic training as your major and career! 🙂
Obviously every student in college is going to have to write research papers and take notes. The writing you are actually going to have to do in the occupation athletic trainer is minimal. You have to fill out reports on an athlete’s injury. You also need to know how to write professional emails, just like any profession. You are going to have to take a lot of notes in this profession because you have to pay very close attention to detail so you don’t miss anything when dealing with an injured athlete.
